How to Play "Stair Safety" (A Knytt Stories Game) 2025 instructions

Step 1: Download the Game (me - test.knytt.bin).

Step 2: Download Knytt Stories player version 1.2.1

Step 3: Extract the downloaded ZIP file.

Step 4: Install and Play

• Open the Knytt Stories player **special instructions for Macs below
• Click on “Install Level”.
• Drag and drop the “me - test.knytt.bin” file into the Knytt Stories window.
• Wait until the level is installed, then click Back and Play.
• Select the "Stair Safety" level and choose a save slot.
• Click Load Game to start playing.

Step 5: Explore using arrows to move, and “s” to jump.

For macOS:

• Intel and Apple Silicon Processors: You’ll need to install Wine to run the game.
  • Install Homebrew: Open Terminal and run the following command: bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
  • Install Wine: brew install --cask wine-stable
  • For Apple Silicon (M1, M2) Users: Ensure Rosetta 2 is installed by running: softwareupdate --install-rosetta
• Run the Game: Open Terminal and run the following command (replace yourUsername with your macOS username if you’ve kept the player in the downloads folder. Otherwise use the correct path): wine "/Users/yourUsername/Downloads/Knytt Stories/Knytt Stories.exe"
